Our first performance in France went pretty well and we were happy with the crowds of people who turned up to watch and support! We were also really happy when some French festivals said that they would like to book us! The festival in Rouen was a mega exciting space, complete with fire displays, a pub and a luxurious bus that was just for us to change and live in! We had a walk around the city and ate baguettes and patisseries and Kelly practiced her French on some poor French men.

We know we will be heading to some more festivals soon and that the first one is in a place called Brest, which sounds exciting!

Plus we were told that we are now one of the lucky few companies who are supported by ZEPA which is a network of events and festivals across Europe! Horray!

Juste avant la pluie, la jeune troupe anglaise Wet Picnic lance son Dinner Party. Tout y est : scénographie ingénieuse (une table multi-fonction où se cacher, s’assoir, etc), comédienne extravertie à souhait tenant à la perfection son personnage de maîtresse de maison, très imprégnée de son concept de « design fooding », un complice parfait en timide arraché malgré lui au public, jusqu’à ce qu’un vrai spectateur se laisse prendre à son tour, une énergie de bon aloi pour un moment chanté-dansé, clin d’œil aux comédies musicales. Un joli « amuse-bouche » pour prendre un peu d’air d’Outre-Manche.

Retour ensuite vers l’univers décalé des anglais de Wet Picnic qui tentent de nous donner un cours intensif en 20 minutes sur la façon de "bien se comporter à table". Amusant et surréaliste, la table est un prétexte aux plus excessives extravagances et un lieu de grand bazar où la gourmandise devient quelque chose d’excitant.
